East Bay Open Studios went down last weekend. I was fortunate enough to show along with some great artists: Emily Van Engel, Andrea Bergen, and Tej Greenill. Because I've been working in a wide variety of mediums in the past few months, I decided to approach this body of work using only charcoal and paper. Nobody's Free

This full-page illustration accompanied an article in the August, 2015 issue of Freedom magazine about the efforts by a group of activists seeking to dismantle the United States' prolific stockpile of nuclear weapons. The Art Director, Quentin Michel, wanted the piece to include twelve portraits and resemble the warm, high-contrast colors and collaged style of Cold War-era propaganda posters. I love the opportunity to do portraits whenever I can, and it was especially fun to draw Obama, Clinton, and both Bushes up in the top right corner.
